Rosemary Zukewich Obituary

Rosemary Zukewich (nee Ralis)

March 11, 1947 - August 25, 2025

Rosemary Zukewich (nee Ralis), age 78, passed away peacefully and transitioned to Eternal Life on August 25, 2025 surrounded by her loving and supportive family. She was stronger than she knew and rallied to stay positive and upbeat even through her own various personal health struggles over the years.

Rosemary was born in Racine on March 11, 1947, to Bronislaw Joseph and Anna Elizabeth Ralis, (nee Glebs), and graduated from Washington Park High School in 1965. She was united in marriage to her loving and loyal husband Theodore "Ted" Zukewich Jr. on October 3, 1970. She worked at SC Johnson before leaving to start a family and focus her attention on raising Melissa Ann and Jennifer Lyn, the "loves of her life" like she'd always say. Her passion was listening to people's problems and offering a supportive ear with helpful advice, all with a compassionate demeanor. Her spunky and sassy side will be missed just as much as her sweet, caring and thoughtful side. Laughter is truly the best medicine and not only did she enjoy a lot of humor with her family, but often times she was the one who created it. Her love for her family was an inspiration and was completely reciprocated back to her. As time took its toll, the simple pleasures she enjoyed like collecting antiques, attending craft fairs, dancing and socializing transitioned to listening to books read to her by her one and only Ted, participating in meaningful conversations with her daughters and enjoying songs by her favorite artists Barry Manilow, Anne Murray and Kenny Rogers. The family gatherings in the evenings that we had every night will be cherished forever by all of us. Love you so. Forever and a day.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Bronislaw Joseph and Anna Elizabeth; and her memory will continue to be cherished by her devoted husband, Ted; daughters, Melissa Zukewich (Eric Hoffman), and Jennifer Zukewich (Dean Madden); brother, Jim (Joyce) Ralis; sister-in-law, Diane (Art) Dunn and brother-in-law, Jim (Carol) Zukewich; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Rosemary's Life service to start at 11 a.m. Private interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.

In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorials to NAMI of Racine or HALO of Racine, both of which Rosemary was passionate about, as well as Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

"You are stronger than you think. More capable than you ever dreamed. And you are loved more than you could possibly imagine."

A special thank you to Clifton and the ICU staff at Ascension All Saints in Racine for their expertise with complex medical issues as well as their compassion in an extremely stressful situation. Another special thank you to Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie who provided an environment full of dignity and compassion in those last few days.
