Rosetta Wolfskill Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors - Royal Oak on Feb. 23, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Rosetta Wolfskill

January 3, 1934 - February 20, 2026

Rosetta Wolfskill, a devoted mother, grandmother, and healer, passed peacefully to the Lord on February 20, 2026. Born in Keystone, West Virginia, to Patsy and Camella Compella, Rosetta was the eldest of nine children-a role that likely sparked her lifelong commitment to caring for those around her. In 1957, she moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she built a vibrant life defined by service and family.

A Life of Service and Spirit ~

For 30 years, Rosetta was a familiar and comforting presence at Beaumont Hospital. To Rosetta, nursing wasn't just a job; it was a true calling. She possessed a unique gift for connecting with patients and helping people through their most difficult moments.

Outside of work, Rosetta was a woman of many talents and curiosities. Whether she was expressing her creativity through drawing, staying active on her daily walks, or sharing her intuitive spirit through palm reading, she approached life with an open heart and a sharp mind.

Her Lasting Legacy ~

Rosetta's greatest joy was her family. She was the beloved mother of Michael (Linda) Cornell and the cherished grandma to her grandchildren: Amanda, Nick, Lindsey, Katie, and Madison and great-grandchildren: Braden, Tyler, Kadence, Franklin, Amelia, Cora, Icie Belle, Ford, Arlo, and Wade. She is also survived by Rick Mabry.

She was predeceased by her parents, Patsy and Carmella Compella, her husband, John Wolfskill, and her daughter, Patsy, who all greeted her in heaven.

Rosetta was deeply loved by everyone who knew her, and she returned that love tenfold. Her kindness, wisdom, and the "calling" she felt to help others will be missed by all.

A funeral service will be held for Rosetta on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. in Royal Oak.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, 1820 Mt. Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207 or at https://www.cskdetroit.org/donate/.
