Rosalie Ann Acevedo, known affectionately as Rosie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in
Caldwell, Idaho. Born on November 6, 1965, in Nampa, Idaho, Rosie's zest for life and infectious humor touched all who knew her.
Rosie's early years were marked by a competitive spirit and a love for sports, earning her the reputation of a tomboy who was always ready for a challenge. Her vivacity and competitive nature remained with her as she grew older, manifesting in her love for games like Rummy, darts, and pool, which she often played with her sister, Patty. Rosie's playful spirit was matched by her creative talents; she was a skilled cook and shared a passion for cosmetology with her sister, exploring the art of beauty and style together.
Though her formal education concluded after the 9th grade, Rosie's learning never stopped. She had a natural curiosity and a hands-on approach to life that allowed her to acquire a wealth of knowledge and skills throughout her years. She met life's challenges head-on, living by her own rules and always remaining true to herself.
Rosie's journey through life was one of courage and self-discovery. She brought eight beautiful children into the world. She leaves behind a loving and extensive family, including her eight surviving siblings: Terry Acevedo, Angie Ortiz, Patty Acevedo, Donna Lovejoy, Joy Fraser, Caralina Bell, Cathleen Cowin, and Elizabeth Freeman. Rosie is preceded in death by her sister Anita and her mother Teresa, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.
During her final weeks, Rosie was lovingly cared for by the staff at Canyon West of Cascadia, where she continued to share her humor and creative spirit with those around her. Her family will forever remember her for the laughter she brought into their lives and the unique and spirited way she approached every day.
To say Rosie was funny, creative, and spirited would be an understatement. Her life was a brilliant tapestry of joy, resilience, and independence. Rosie's legacy will live on in the stories shared by friends and family, the life lessons she imparted, and the countless memories of her unwavering spirit and loving heart.
As we bid farewell to Rosie, we celebrate a life authentically lived-a life full of passion, laughter, and an undeniable spark that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Rosalie Ann Acevedo's memory will be cherished and her spirit will undoubtedly continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
