Rosie Keele Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Feldhaus Memorial Chapel - Shelbyville on Mar. 23, 2026.
Rosie Mai Keele, age 78, of the Wheel Community passed this life Sunday, March 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 12, 1947, in Rover, TN to the late Cecil and Lessie (Cook) Knois. In addition to her parents, Rosie is also preceded in death by her husband, James Leroy Keele; son, James Allen Keele; and brother, Roger Knois.

Rosie was a loving and devoted woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed working outdoors, taking great pride in tending her flowers and caring for her lawn. She was a faithful fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, rarely missing an opportunity to watch their football and basketball games. Rosie also found happiness in playing bingo, where she shared laughter and fellowship with friends. She retired from Sanford in Shelbyville in 2009 after more than 20 years of dedicated service. Above all, she cherished her family, treasuring every moment spent together and holding them close to her heart. She will be remembered for her warmth, her love of life, and the special way she made those around her feel cared for.

Rosie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Regina Gregory; granddaughter, Erica (James) Freebury; great-grandson, Jude Freebury; great-granddaughter, Jolie Freebury; and extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 25th from 4 – 7 p.m. at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. In honoring Rosie's wishes, she will be cremated and remembered with love by all who knew her.
