Rosie V. Ramirez
September 4, 1935 - February 22, 2025
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother Rosie V. Ramirez. Born in San Antonio, Texas on September 4, 1935 to her loving parents Melecio and Francisca Villarreal. Rosie was married to her devoted husband, Roger Ramirez. She was called home to our Lord on February 22, 2025 at the age of 89 surrounded by her adoring family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Greissel (William, son-in-law) and son John R. Ramirez, Jr. (Grace, daughter-in-law), 6 grandchildren Bridget, Nanette, Andrea, John, Jacob, William, 7 great-grandchildren Louis, Araceli, Mariah, Daquan, Giavonni, Lamoni, Drelin, Joaquin and 10 great-great grandchildren Louis, Liliana, Aubrey, Luciano, Avery, Messiah, Makai, Reign, Gianna, G'Angelo. Let us take a moment to share some heartfelt reflections about Rosie.
She proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and had a passion for yard work, caring for her plants, and spending time on the porch with all her grandchildren. Additionally, she was fond of playing
bingo and traveling to casinos. Roger and Rosie founded the Yellow Rose Trucking Company. They shared a love for 18-wheelers and the open road. Rosie was a well known and respected advocate for her role in establishing the gambling industry in San Antonio. As we remember her, we celebrate a life well-lived, a love well-shared, and a legacy that will
continue to inspire for generations to come. Rosie was our pillar of strength and the foundation for our entire family. She will forever be cherished and never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her, and we will miss her tremendously.
Visitation will be held on March 17, 2025, at 4:00-8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. A Chapel service will be held on March 18, 2025, followed by a burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Madrina Rosie, thank you for setting an example of being strong, independent, faithful and God loving. I will forever cherish your memories and the love you showed me and my family. I will always admire the love and fight you had in you for your family and friends. I pray you have eternal rest. I know you are rejoicing in Heaven with the loved ones who you missed dearly. My prayers and love to all the Ramirez/Villarreal family on the loss of an incredible loving, generous, brave woman. I will never forget you Madrina Rosie.

Grandma Rosie was an amazing woman who I had the privilege of meeting and working for. She was a true OG and a last of a dying breed who put family and loyalty over everything. Her love for her family and the ones close to her was unsurpassed. She left a lasting impact on the city of San Antonio that will never be matched. My sincere condolences goes out to all of her family and loved ones. May you continue her legacy and live life as she did and would want you to.
God bless all of y´all.

Grandma I miss you so much. I'm happy that I was able to live with you these past couple of years. We became so close. You were always giving me advise and guiding me to be a better person. We have so many memories together and I'm going to keep them in my heart. You were such a wonderful person and loved us so much. I wish you were here a little longer but God had other plans. I love you and until we meet again.
