"Our beloved Rosita Merciadez passed away at home after a brief illness in the early hours of December 4, 2023. She lived a long and happy fulfilling life of 92 years.
In 1969, she immigrated to the US from the Philippines with her children to join her husband who had moved there a year before to embark on a new life. Always a friendly and lively presence, Rosita was known for her hospitality and generosity. She loved her friends and time in her church group and in the local Filipino senior club, where she served as their president for many years. She enjoyed her trips back to the Philippines and around the world, as much as her trips to the casino. She had two fulfilling careers as an elementary teacher in the Philippines and as a hospital technician at Christ Hospital in Jersey City.
She was the loving wife of husband, Narciso of 66 years, and is also survived by her daughters Liza and Lily (predeceased), sons Mel (Nina) and John (Bret), and two granddaughters, Michelle (David) and Angela (Jake), and dozens of nieces and nephews, whom she supported with their education in the Philippines.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Alzheimer's Association.
The viewing will be held at Greenville Memorial Home on December 15, 2023 at 4pm. The mass service will be held at St. Aedan's on December 16, 2023 10am, followed by the burial at Holy Name Cemetery at 11am."
