Ross S. Trischetti, 92, of West Pittston, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, in Geisinger Hospital South Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by loved ones.
Born April 26, 1932, Ross was the son of the late Rosario and Josephine Mantione Trischetti. He was married to the love of his life, the late Rose Marie (Reh) Trischetti, until her passing in November 2006. Ross graduated from Pittston Area High School, Class of 1949. He remained connected to his classmates throughout his life. He served on his high school reunion committee and found great joy in attending their bi-monthly luncheons at Fox Hill Country Club.
From a young age, Ross was active in his church, serving as an altar boy until the age of 18, and during the Great Depression, was often seen on Main Street, Pittston, with a shoeshine kit in hand, doing his part to help his family. After graduation, he moved to New Jersey for a short time, where he lived with relatives and worked as a short-order cook before returning to Pennsylvania. He had a few small jobs before finding his career at Eberhard Faber, where he worked for 32 years as the shipping department manager. After the company relocated to Mexico, he continued his work at Excell Feeders until he retired in 1999.
He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter, later to become Corpus Christi Parish. What close friends and family will remember most about him is his admiration for his team, the Philadelphia Phillies. He attended many games, but one of his favorite memories was that he attended a World Series game in 1980 with his son, Ross. He was also an avid Eagles fan, rooting for them every Sunday during football season.
Above all else, Ross was a family man. He was exceptionally close to his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy! Ross looked forward to spending time with them, whether it was going to one of their games or just hanging out at home, but what he especially looked forward to was going to Blue Ribbon for his favorite concoction, a chocolate milkshake.
Ross was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Marie; sisters: Rose Argenio, Pauline Curcio and Sarah Dovin; and brothers: Sebastian (Buster), Joseph, Patrick and Angelo Trischetti.
He is survived by his children: Linda Misuraca and husband, Alfonso; Ross Trischetti and wife, Donna; Doreen Trischetti; and Sharon Geoghegan and husband, James; grandchildren: Cassandra, Cory, Tyler, Jason, Cheryl, Jennifer, Alfonso Jr. and Ross; great-grandchildren: Nay, Ashley, Courtney, Mikki and Samuel; several nieces and nephews; and extended family members who will continue to honor his memory.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. with Monsignor John Sempa as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Township.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ross' name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to our local Salvation Army.
Arrangements are by Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston.
