Rosy Patlan

December 18, 1967 – March 24, 2026

Rosy Patlan, age 58, passed to the other side of the veil on March 24, 2026, surrounded by her family and those who loved her most.

Rosy was born on December 18, 1967, in León, Mexico, to her mother, Grace Cebrian, and her father, Pedro Rodriguez. She was also blessed to find an additional father, Abraham Cebrian, who was sealed to her as her father for eternity. She carried a deep love for her roots, her family, and her faith throughout her life.

Rosy found great joy in being creative and had a passion for making crafts. She was a woman of strong faith and devotion, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was often charged with being an activity director, and many people came to know and love her through the parties and gatherings she thoughtfully planned and hosted-so much so that many would attend events simply because they knew Rosy was the one planning them. She was also known to never truly relax; even after chemotherapy treatments, her family would often find her cleaning the house or cooking for her children, always putting others before herself. Her family will always remember her encouraging words: "never give up, never surrender." She had a way of uplifting those around her and reminding them to stay strong through life's challenges.

Rosy fought valiantly in her battle against cancer for three years following a diagnosis of mesothelioma. Her strength, resilience, and courage were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Rosy is survived by her loving husband, Luis Patlan; her sons, Christian Patlan and Kevin Patlan; and her daughters, Sara Patlan, Ashley Patlan, Stacey Patlan, and Melanie Patlan. She is also survived by her mother, Grace Cebrian; her father, Abraham Cebrian; her brothers, Cruz Guadian and Pepe Guadian; and her sisters, Veronica Allred and Gabriella Dickey. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

A funeral service will be held on March 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM at 1280 E Turquoise Way in Sandy, Utah.Burial will be in the West Jordan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, guests are asked to bring a white balloon to be released upon her interment in her honor.

Rosy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
