Rowe "Slim" Rice, a resilient man with a heart as vast as the Tennessee landscape he loved, passed away on September 2, 2024. Born in Vale, Tennessee, on September 9, 1943, Slim spent a majority of his life in McEwen, Tennessee, reveling in the great outdoors and embracing life's simple pleasures.

Slim's dedication to his land and his love for farming were the cornerstones of his life. He was a man of the soil, nurturing both crops and animals with a tender hand and a watchful eye. His farming was not merely an occupation; it was a testament to his enduring commitment to the land he loved and the community he cherished.

Beyond his agricultural pursuits, Slim was an avid hunter and an all-around handyman. He could fix anything, his skilled hands always found a way to breathe life back into broken objects. He had a love for tinkering with his tractors, and was often seen riding around his land on them, a picture of contentment and joy.

Visitation: will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday, September 6, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until service time in the chapel of Spann Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: will be held, Friday, September 6, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Spann Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Wright officiating.

Interment: will follow at the Massey - Liles Cemetery in Hollow Rock, TN
