Spann Funeral Home - DicksonMr. Robert Thomas Manley, age 84, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026. He was born September 10, 1941, in Tennessee City, TN to the late Arthur Manley and Edith.
Robert is survived by five daughters, Theresa Furr (John) White Bluff, TN, Kathy Maddox Smithburg MD, Karen Lone (Ronald) Gaithersburg, MD, Lora Ferguson (Kevin) Terry, MS , and Melisa Stephens, Nashville, TN; siblings Norma Luther, Judy Daniels, Raymond Manley, Betty Bates, Roger Manley, Donna Phillips. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two puppies. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Manley, parents Auther Manley, and Edith Manley, brothers Wayne Manley, Charles Manley, and Jimmy Manley, grandsons Brandon Maddox, and Michael Lone.
He was an active member of Church Alive in Mount Juliet, TN and attended Goodlettsville Pentecostal Church in Goodlettsville, TN. He loved his pastor, Bro. Kevin Page and his family dearly. Bro. Kevin saw my dad at his highest and lowest points in his health battles. We love you and thank you for loving my dad so much.
He was known for being fiercely independent, a hard worker, generous, a provider, a faithful husband, a fisherman, a storyteller, a man of faith, and a great Dad. If you were in his inner circle, you knew about his love of his yard and mowing, the puppies - Romeo and Baxter, that he had five daughters, how much he loved his CookOut milkshakes and just how much he had won playing Texas hold ‘em on his Grandpad. He loved to spend time with friends, especially his buddy, John, and family reminiscing of days gone by and if you hung around long enough, he may have even shared a fish tale or two.
We will miss his wonderful bowls of gumbo, his sense of humor, his birthday call serenades, putting puzzles together with us…even if all the pieces may not be there, and his calls to check in on us. When we were little, and our dad pulled in, one of us would be at the door, happily exclaiming, “Daddy’s home, our daddy is home!”. Just a few days ago, when his health began to decline, and he received his ultimate healing, we once again said those familiar words, with tears in our eyes, our daddy is home. Heaven holds a precious piece of our hearts as our dad walks on.
