Roxanne Jill Sheggeby, 73, passed away unexpectantly on August 2, 2025. Roxanne (Roxie) was born on March 2, 1952, to Jacob and Evelyn (Greene) Wingert in Boyd, WI. She attended Cadott High School, graduating in 1970.
Roxie married and then divorced Richard Martineau, having first son Curtiss in1970. Roxie married and divorced Gerald Bertrang, with which she had her second son Chad in 1974and daughter Jeri in 1975. Roxanne moved to Augusta, where she met and eventually married Alan Sheggeby on March 27, 1982.
She tragically lost Al to a car accident in September 1991. Subsequently, she shared over a decade with Leslie (Les) Lovelien moving from Wisconsin to Arizona before his passing. Roxanne settled in Muscle Schoals, AL, where she spent over 15 years with Johnny Alsbrooks until her death.
Roxie's life centered around people. Whether it was waitressing, helping the disabled in her role at Lutheran Social Services or in her later years becoming the primary caregiver for her partner Johnny, she delighted in helping and being with others.
She LOVED to cook, research new recipes and often boasted about her superior cooking skills! She kept in touch with friends and family through her many phone calls and letters. Affectionally called "Foxie Roxie," because of her red locks and bubbly, smiling personality, she was a
social butterfly everywhere she went, easily making new friends along the way.
Roxanne is survived by her daughter Jeri (Andy) Sylvester and two grandsons Owen and Ethan; son Curtiss Martineau and granddaughter Mackenzie (Alec) Strauch; and son Chad Bertrang and grandson Brady.
She will be missed by many and leaves behind Johnny Alsbrooks, and his children Sharon (Kirk), Michael, Johnny (Cori) and Jason (Annie); sister Jackie; foster sister Dorothy Francis; sisters-in-law Ardath Solsrud and Ramona Sheggeby; brother-in-law Ray Sheggeby; long time special friends Deloris Fiedler, Ellen Dalton and Martha (Jayne) Sweet; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded indeath by her husband Alan, significant other Les; siblings Diane, Nancy, Nina. Jeff, Duaneand Pat; brothers-in-law Stan Sheggeby and Glen Solsrud; and daughter-in-law Julie Martineau, who sadly passed the day before Roxanne.
Roxanne will be laid to rest with her husband in a ceremony at the West Lawn Cemetary in Augusta, WI on October 18, 2025 at 1100 with a Celebration of Life to follow from 12-4 at the Augusta Lion's Hall.
Arrangements were made by Roxanne's daughter Jeri; Anderson Funeral Home of Augusta, Wi; and Morrison Funeral Homes & Crematory of Tuscumbia, AL
