Roxanne L. Smith, age 67, of Danville, Indiana passed away peacefully in her home on March 12, 2025. As always, she was surrounded by many loved ones.
Roxanne loved her family more than anything. She spent nearly all of her free time with her children and grandchildren. She and her husband, Harry, enjoyed hosting the family as much as possible. Roxanne loved providing a home cooked dinner for her family each and every weekend. Her home was the gathering place for her children and grandchildren for more than 50 years. This past April 6, 2024, Roxanne and Harry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. This was a very special occasion for the family, and they will be forever grateful to have had that time together. In addition to being a wife, mother, and grandmother, Roxanne was a well known child care provider for many families in the community for over 30 years. Roxanne loved when former daycare families stopped in and visited with her.
Roxanne is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harry Smith; daughter, Mandy (Dan) Stapp, and granddaughter, Macy; daughter, Missy (Greg) Hadaway, and granddaughters, Carly and Emmy; daughter, Tracy (Dominic) Loviscek, and grandchildren, Mason, Adelyn, and Lucy; son, Shawn (Dana) Smith, and grandson, Bryce; daughter, Kate (Brandon) Calvert, and grandchildren, Drew, Austin, Alex, Audrey, and Avery; and her father, Bethel Hall.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Linda Hall, and her brother, Kevin Hall. Roxanne will always be remembered by all as a loving grandmother to her 12 grandchildren and a loving mother to her five children.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Eric Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana, with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Glioblastoma Research Organization.
