Roy Arnsdorff Obituary

Springfield – Roy E. Arnsdorff departed his earthly home for his heavenly home on November 28, 2024.
He was born June 11, 1943 at home in Effingham County. He enjoyed his family, 55 Chevy, sports, hunting, fishing, and especially Nascar Racing. He was employed first by his father, a mechanic in Shawnee, worked with Arden Chevrolet and Kight Ford as a mechanic, was hired full time by Georgia Air National Guard and retired with 30 years Civil Service and 39 years in the 283rd Military as an E8 SMS working as the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor.
He enjoyed fellowship with many friends. He was a member of Rincon Baptist Temple and enjoyed learning God's work especially Paul's writing to believers and seeing the future for all in that great book of Revelation written by God at the hand of John.
He enjoyed metal detecting, working farm equipment, taking movies of animals while hunting, restoring old cars and did some drag racing in the 60s.
He loved his many friends and especially his family, may God bless you all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Purcell Arnsdorff and Sarah Arnsdorff, and son, John Arnsdorff. He was one of four children, sisters, Gloria Howard and Lula Buckner and brother, Lloyd Arnsdorff whom also preceded him in death. He was parent to John Arnsdorff and Amy Johns (Troy), and he had three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Natalie and Camden, and two great-grandchildren. He also had many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024 at Rincon Baptist Temple followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in The Church at Turkey Branch Cemetery.
