Roy Blevins

Age 95, of Kensington and formerly Minerva, passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026 in the Minerva Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 30, 1930 in East Rochester to Samuel and Nannie (Hulse) Blevins. He retired from James River Co. in Minerva where he had worked for 34 years, having started in the Minerva Wax Paper. He had also worked for the Ford Motor Co. and the Minerva True Value Hardware. He is a member of the New Alexander Christian Church and a 70 year member of Augusta Lodge #501 F&AM. Roy was a fun and good guy and always had time for a friendly chat.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl “Peggy” (Hilliard) Blevins whom he married March 19, 2016, and a son, Jim Blevins of Minerva. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeannie (Beltz) Blevins who died in 2014, 2 sisters, Jeannie Kistner, Charlotte Boord and 2 brothers, Sam and Austin Blevins.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Ken Muller officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday one hour prior to services from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home where Masonic Services will be held at 10:50 prior to the funeral.
