Roy Vincent Cox Jr., 72 of Ramsey Springs passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 19, 1951, in Biloxi, MS to the late Roy Vincent Cox Sr. & Eleanor Cox. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Willene “Willie” Cox; and sister, Carolyn Cook.
Roy enjoyed being in the outdoors going hunting and fishing, and even crafted his own Turkey Calls. He had his own Turkey Call business called, “Long Beard Boards & Boxes”. Roy had a love for music and was an avid guitar player, which he would play and sing along to on his front porch. He was a member of the Little Creek Baptist Church.
Roy attended Biloxi High School. During high school, Roy worked for Delchamp’s Grocery Store where he met Willie. They were married on October 31, 1969, and were together for 46 years. During those times Roy was a welder by trade and owned, “At Last Services” for 13 years and before that worked at various welding companies and job sites throughout the Gulf Coast. Later Roy met Rhonda in 2017 and together they were married for 6 years. Roy was a loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to so many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Rhonda Cox; children, Shelly (Troy) Diamond, Micah (Tammy) Cox, Karri (Randy) Cuevas, Ellie (Van) Wells, and Angie Cox; step-children, Chris (Ginnie) Breland, and Roxanne (Greg) Engle; grandchildren, Alyssa, Colton, Caitlyn, Ruben, Rustin, Cason, Duncan, Eli, Analeigh, Brandon, Oaklee, Rachel, Brent, Chance, Heather, and Haleigh; Sisters, Beverly Hebert, and Jean (Roy) Conine; brother in law, Talmadge Cook, and Brian Easley ( Lesha); and life long friend, Julius Bond. Roy also leaves behind to cherish his memory 15 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and extended family, and especially his 3 dogs, “Seren”, “Roux”, and “File”.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Little Creek Baptist Church (2688 Wire Road, Perkinston, MS). Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Little Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow at O’Neal Cox Cemetery. Pallbearers for Roy’s services will be his grandsons; Ruben, Colton, Rustin, Cason, Duncan, Eli, and Brandon.
