Roy S. Doan

Roy S. Doan, a lifelong resident of Bucks County, died Saturday, June 7, 2014, at his residence in Bensalem, with his loving family at his side. He was 85. He was a resident of Bensalem for the past 30 years. Roy was the transportation director for the Bensalem Township. School District, retiring after 20 years of service. Roy served his country proudly as a U.S. Army Master Sergeant during the Korean War; and he belonged to The Korean War Vets Association. He was a 50-year member of the Harry A. Houseman Lodge 717, Free and Accepted Masons. He loved fishing, gardening and woodworking, but most especially his grandchildren. Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Peterson Doan; his four children, Roy W. Doan, Kathy Doan, Jennifer M. Grant and John Swagzdis (Elizabeth) and his beloved grandchildren, Ryan Grant, Carolyn Swagzdis, Kayla Swagzdis and Stephanie Eckert. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, followed by a Masonic service at 12:45 p.m. and a religious service at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
