Roy D. Fales

1944-2025

Born March 31, 1944 in Hamburg New York– Died November 7, 2025 in Upper Makefield, PA

He was the only child of Robert and Julia (Wado) Fales, of mostly Irish and Polish descent.

He graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio with a commission as Second Lieutenant in the Army, functioning as part of the Military Police. He spent most of his employment after discharge, working for the State of New Jersey as a Test Development Supervisor.

Roy is survived by his wife Kathleen Hamlin-Fales, stepsons Edward Hamlin (Alyssa) in Maryland, and Brett Hamlin (Erica) in New Jersey, and his daughter Noel Fales Criscuolo (Adam) in Pennsylvania, and six grandchildren- Myles; Aidan, Ryleigh; Lochlan, Killian, and Fiona.

A few early comments from family, friends, and neighbors on Roy's passing: A wonderful man, enjoyed his company, remembered fondly, lovely man, so nice and fun to be around, enjoyed speaking with him, will be missed, always willing to go along with everything, so very kind to my family, enjoyed his stories, big part of the fun we had, loved pitching golf balls in the backyard.

From his ex-wife: he was funny, charming, creative, and a good person with a good heart.

From his good friend and coworker, he had a teacher's heart and taught me well. He was a witty writer with a wonderful vocabulary, excellent grammar, and a poetic, humorous style. He liked to take on projects that would make things better in a handy and creative way.

So, that is a glimpse of Roy Fales - wordsmith, humorist, golfer, soldier, husband, father, friend, co-worker, neighbor - a good man. Rest in peace. We miss you.

Services are being held privately for the family. Arrangements are under the care of the FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home 17 S. Delaware Avenue Yardley, PA 19067. Condolences for the family can be left at www.fitzgeraldsommerfuneralhome.com.
