Pastor Roy Lee Fitzgerald, Sr. transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at his residence. He was born March 6, 1951 in Chatham, Virginia to the late Mr. & Mrs. Willie Fitzgerald. He attended and graduated from Northside High School, Gretna, VA where he was on the basketball team and played to win. He was united in holy matrimony to Marian Logan Fitzgerald on November 29, 1969 and moved to High Point, NC. He joined the Bell Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Chatham, Virginia. After moving to High Point, NC, he joined Gethsemane Baptist Church by letter in June of 1981. He was ordained as a Deacon in August of 1982. Several auxiliaries were organized under Pastor Fitzgerald's leadership – noon day Bible Study, Praise Team, and the H.O.L.Y. Mime Team.
