Roy Lee Harper, 83, of Owensboro, passed away December 19, 2025. He was born October 21, 1942 in Breckenridge County to the late Homer and Grace Smiley Harper. Roy was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran. He retired from Commonwealth Aluminum and enjoyed fishing, U.K. basketball and NASCAR. Roy was also preceded in death by one sister.
He is survived by his son, Frankie (Alisa) Harper; daughters, Pam (Toby) Newman and Tina (Jeff) Dukes; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, and three sisters, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at Rosehill Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Heartford House.
