Roy N. Hitchner, 80 of Parkertown, NJ passed away on Friday March 14th, 2025. Roy was born in West Deptford, NJ and spent his life living in Parkertown, NJ. Roy proudly served our nation in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and worked for Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City for many years as a Security Detective. He was a local clammer who enjoyed creating art through drawing and feeding the deer in his backyard. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending to his yard and reading.
Roy was predeceased by his parents Lester Lee Hitchner and Mary Richman Renolds and his beloved wife Elvoida Beatrice Hitchner in 2017.
He is survived by his loving children Ellie “Pixie” Clayton and husband Orray of Hammonton, NJ, Donna Carras and husband Rich of Coatesvile, PA and Roy M. Hitchner of Parkertown, NJ, brother Leonard Hitchner and wife Jean Filardo of Florida, sister Helen Hazard and husband Scott of New Gretna, NJ, grandchildren Cory, Heather, Jonathan, Matthew and Hannah-Marie Clayton, Brady and Joshua Carras and Clay and Cody Hitchner and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 22, 2025 from 10 to 12 at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd. Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Burial will follow in West Creek Cemetery, West Creek, NJ.
