Roy Hope, Sr. was born on February 27, 1936, to Ida and James Hope, Sr., in Hale County, Alabama.
Roy and Mary were united in holy matrimony on June 8, 1957, in Columbus, Mississippi, their union was blessed with five children. Roy Hope, Sr. served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged after his term of service. In 1966 Roy and Estell Hope relocated their family to Fort Wayne, Indiana. After their arrival in Fort Wayne, Mr. Roy Hope, Sr. gained employment with the Fort Wayne Foundry, Inc., Pontiac Div. for 33+ years of dedicated employment.
Mr. Hope's love and dedication to his wife and family provided the courage and strength to serve in the United State Army, and then worked at the Fort Wayne Foundry for 33+ years to provide a stable home, and opportunities to his children.
Roy Hope, Sr. departed this earthly life on Thursday July 13, 2023, at Parkview Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who was loved dearly and will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family: brother James Hope, Jr., children, Roy Hope, Jr., Darryl Hope, Edward Hope of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Sam (Virginia) Hope of Indianapolis, Indiana, as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and innumerable relatives and friends.
Roy Hope was preceded in death by his wife Mary E. Hope, Daughter Diane Rowles, Granddaughter Juanita (Cookie) Rowles, Great-grandson Alrannus Rowles. Siblings Carrie Tucker, Willie Hope, and Jonnie Hope.
