Roy Kolly Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 18, 2026.
Roy Edward Kolly passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by dedication to family, public service, and a lifelong love of learning.

An accomplished electrical engineer, he built a distinguished career with the Federal Communications Commission, where he served as a senior executive in the Enforcement Division. Throughout his career, he was respected for his integrity, intellect, and commitment to ensuring fairness and accountability in communications regulation.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Patricia, with whom he shared a loving marriage since 1965. Together, they built a strong family centered on support and encouragement.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, two daughters, Vera Fitch, married to Dave Fitch, and their daughter Bethany, and Tina DeAdder, married to Brooks DeAdder, and their three children, Jackson, Gabby, and Charlie DeAdder. Nothing brought him greater joy than watching his grandchildren grow, especially cheering them on at their sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Aymen, and his parents, Edward Kolly and Mildred Kolly.

Outside of his professional life, he enjoyed square dancing and later took up the challenge of learning golf. He approached every hobby the same way he approached life - with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Those who know him will remember that every interaction with him was a teachable moment. He was always learning, always sharing knowledge and always encouraging others to think, grow, and do their best.

His legacy lives on through the family he cherished and the many lives he influenced through his wisdom and kindness.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. Interment will be at San Lorenzo Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
