Jay Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by St. John's Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 16, 2026.
Jay Franklin Clark, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away at his home on March 13, 2026.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Jay graduated from Englewood High School, class of 65. He continued his education at St. Johns Junior College in Palatka and later at Jacksonville University. Jay also proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 6 years as a hospital corpsman. During his service, he was stationed aboard the destroyer USS Charles R. Ware (DD-865) out of Mayport, Florida.

Jay began his professional career in Jacksonville working in sales before pursuing opportunities in the engineering field. Over the years he held several positions, eventually co-owning and operating AFS Energy Systems in Lemoyne, Pa., where he spent many successful years building his business and working alongside colleagues and friends.

Jay was an avid outdoorsman who deeply enjoyed spending time in nature. His passions included hunting, fishing, boating, scuba diving, shooting, and riding his motorcycle. Whether on the water, in the woods, or on the open road, he found great joy in adventure and the outdoors.

He was a member masonic lodge in Jacksonville, Florida and a member of a hunting club, where he formed many lasting friendships through shared interests and camaraderie.

Jay will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his strong work ethic, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember his adventurous spirit, loyalty to friends, and the enjoyment he found in life's simple moments spent outdoors.

He is survived by his betrothed, Connie Taylor; his children, Brooks Foland (Kim Selemba) and Natalie Clark; and his grandchildren, Olivia and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Verna Clark.

A memorial service will be held on March 21, 2026 at Riverdale Community Methodist Church at 3:00pm. Life Celebration following at their home in Tocoi.

Another celebration of life will be held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at a later date.
