Roy Dean McAlevy, Jr., affectionately known as "Butch," passed away peacefully at his home on June 18, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on January 8, 1956, in Huntingdon, PA, Roy was a cherished member of the community and a beloved family man. Roy graduated from Juniata Valley High School and continued his education at Vale Technical Institute in Indiana, PA. He dedicated his career to autobody mechanics, bringing his skill and expertise to every project. Additionally, Roy was a passionate entertainer, playing guitar and singing in various bands for over 50 years, most recently with the Sugar Ridge Band in Huntingdon. Beyond his professional life, Roy was deeply involved in his community. He devoted many years to caring for elderly friends and brightened the holiday season by playing Santa Claus at the Mt. Nittany Mall in State College for over five years. Roy was also a lifetime member of the Alexandria Fire Hall, demonstrating his commitment to community service. Roy is preceded in death by his father, Roy Dean McAlevy, Sr.; his mother, Mildred Arlene "Dolly" McAlevy; and his niece, Lori Ann Keller. He is survived by his loving daughter, Stacy McAlevy Budde; his son, Andrew McAlevy; his grandchildren, Karissa Budde, Katherine Budde, and Kaylee Budde; his four great-grandchildren; his sister, Pamela Shore; and his nephews, Jamie Keller and Timothy Keller. A private service will be held to lay Roy to rest with his parents in the Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery.
