Roy Mecke

Roy Arnold Mecke, 69, left this world peacefully on December 29, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Billy Graham led Roy to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and now he is in the arms of his loving Savior. Roy was born on April 2, 1956 in Canada, the son of Wilhelm and Elfriede Mecke. He spent his early years in Rochester, Michigan with dual citizenship. Roy moved to Greeneville, Tennessee at a young age with his family who had a strong work ethic and were prosperous in many business endeavors. Roy continued to strengthen and grow the family businesses throughout his life. He had the rare opportunity of celebrating 50 years of business with The Bottle Shop, an extraordinary business milestone. Roy Mecke is proceeded in death by his parents, Wilhelm and Elfrieda Mecke as well as his brother Thomas Mecke. Although Roy was a brilliant and successful business man, his servant's heart and love was known by his closest family and friends, specifically his partner, Faye Russell. Over the past nine years, Roy and Faye traveled the world together sharing love, laughter, and joy. Roy's giving attributes are well known in the Greeneville community especially in theater and the Miss Greene County Pageant. Roy's voice took him into various opportunities in radio as well as being the MC for several events. Roy will be remembered for his kindness and generosity as well as his adventurous spirit. Roy Mecke is survived by his loving partner, Faye Russell; daughter, Melissa Mecke; and son, Christopher Mecke; as well as many friends who were loved dearly as family.

The family will receive friends Sunday 1-3 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service downtown. The funeral will be held at 3 pm in the chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
