Roy Moore was born on June 26, 1953 in Laurel County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late George Moore and Pearl George Moore of Somerset, Kentucky. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 42 years, Anna Creech Moore of London, Kentucky; two children, Roger Moore and wife Lidia, and Christina Younts and husband Anthony all of London; six siblings, Georgie Miller and husband Bill; Floyd Moore, Barbara Kincaid and husband Don all of North Carolina, Ray Moore and wife Debbie of London, Billy Moore, Ed Moore and wife Theresa of Somerset; six grandchildren, Michael, Kimberly, Kaylee, John, Hailey and Christian; a great-grandchild, Dominique (Dommy) along with a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle Moore and Hank Moore and sister-in-law Janice Moore.
Roy was a member of Acorn Church of God and also enjoyed attending church at Pleasant Valley Pentecostal Church. He loved fishing, hunting and taking care of his garden. He bled blue for his UK Wildcats. Roy loved spending time with his family and was loved by all who knew him; he will be dearly missed.
Roy Moore departed this life on Saturday, June 22, 2024 being 70 years, 11 months and 27 days of age.
The funeral service for Roy Moore will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sunday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Garnett Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Family Cemetery in London.
The visitation of Roy Moore will be on Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m. for the family and at 6:00 p.m. for the public at Bowling Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Roger Moore, Anthony Younts, Harold Creech, Jeremiah Moore, Joe McKnight, Bill Burdine, and John Moore.
