Sandra Gilford Obituary
Sandra is also survived by her loving siblings: Sharon Gilford of Lexington, Kentucky, and Michael Gilford and wife Mari of Pineville, Louisiana. She leaves behind two cherished nephews, Steve Gilford and Mark Gilford, and her five devoted fur babies-Charlie, Reggie, Dolly, Wheezer, and Poopa-who were truly the light of her life.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, David Gilford.
Sandra dedicated many years of her professional life working as an executive assistant in the environmental affairs industry. However, her true passion was found in the arts-particularly music and dance. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and expressed her creativity through movement and melody. Sandra was exceptionally musically gifted and could beautifully play the clarinet, flute, bass guitar, and piano. Music and dance were not just talents, but lifelong sources of joy, self-expression, and inspiration for her. She was of the Christian faith and embraced life with a joyful spirit. Sandra deeply loved her family and found daily happiness in the companionship of her fur babies, whose unconditional love brought her constant comfort and joy.
Sandra Lee Gilford departed this life on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the age of 62.
A funeral service for Sandra Lee Gilford will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park in London.
The family of Sandra Lee Gilford will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home beginning at 12 noon Saturday until the funeral hour of 1 pm.
