Roy Lee Murray Jr., 58, of Wellston, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 at his home. Lee was born on June 17, 1966, in Springfield, the son of Linda (Hartley) Nesser and Roy Lee Murray.

Lee was an avid online racer, known as “Spyder” in the CC Sim Racing and RWB International communities. He was an accomplished nurse and was very proud to have been published twice in Ohio nursing journals.

Lee is survived by his parents, Linda Nesser of Laurelville and Roy Lee (Bettie) Murray; brothers, Fred (Sarah) Nesser of McArthur and Robert Nesser of Chillicothe; sisters, Carrie Murray of Laurelville and April (Kenny) Cottrill of Wellston; several aunts, uncles, and cousins from all over the country – north, east, south, and west; many nieces and nephews; numerous close friends and racing buddies, including his “work wife”, Chris, and special friends, Carey Singleton and Thomas Stump; and his beloved dog, Her Royal Highness Princess.

Lee was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Nesser; and nephews, Andrew Nesser and Robert Nesser.

A celebration of Lee’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
