Terry's Obituary

A spitfire named Terry Lewis Jones, 72, of Trumann, Arkansas, peacefully departed this life on November 28, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on June 7, 1953 to Leona and Willie Jones in Tulot, Arkansas,

Terry was a well-known and well-loved rebel from day one. He grew up and spent a majority of his adult life in Harvey, Illinois. During his younger years, you could find him cruising in one of his prized muscle cars while blasting Jimi Hendrix or Led Zeppelin. He was a dedicated employee of Nestlé for years, acting as a product tester, a role that was truly perfect for a food-lover like himself. As the family grill-master, he loved gathering with his loved ones for a great meal, hilarious conversation, and a strong drink or two.

Terry is and will remain the definition of a dependable, strong, unshakeable man. He loved hard, always spoke his mind, and was never afraid to cause a little trouble. His family will remember him as a true pillar, one that will be missed desperately and daily.

Terry Jones was preceded in death by his mother and father, Leona and Willie Jones. His older brother and very best friend, Larry Jones, and his uncle and partner in crime, Earl Webster.

He is survived by his partner, soulmate and wife of over 30 beautiful years, Mattie Jones of Trumann, Arkansas. His little sister and first baby, Sherry Adams, of Trumann, Arkansas. Three step-children: Felicia Washington, Lorenzo Thompson, and Zachary Thompson of Orlando, Florida and Trumann, Arkansas. Nephew and nieces: Katrina Jones, Jerome Thigpen, DJ Adams, and Taylor Adams (Stormy Clark) of Chicago, Illinois and Trumann, Arkansas. Great nephews and niece: Tavon Jones, Taquan Johnson, Tierah Johnson, Azari Thigpen, Zacai Thigpen, and Mercer Clark of Chicago, Illinois and Trumann, Arkansas.

Life may not be as colorful without Terry, but we urge each and every one of you to live a little more like him every day. Say what you’re thinking, show those that you love how much you cherish them, and most importantly - don’t take crap from anyone.
