Roy Lynn Pruitt

Roy Lynn Pruitt, 66 of Huntsville Alabama, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025. Born in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of the late Roy Pruitt, Sr. and Linda Socha. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Gay Ramsay-Pruitt, sister-in-law Barbara Holley, and father and mother-in-law AC and JoAnn Bobo.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters Naomi (Mark) Emery of Murfreesboro, TN, and Rhiannon Pruitt of Lisbon, Portugal; grandchildren Tristan and Autumn Emery, sisters Lucinda Finley and Yvonne (David) Mills, brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Joelene Bobo, brother-in-law Tommy Holley, and his fur baby Wesson. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Mr. Pruitt was a Christian and retired as a Master Carpenter at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He loved music of all genres and played guitar, harmonica, and piano. He was also an avid chess-player, woodcrafter and reader. He loved riding his Harley, never met a stranger, and always brought a smile to those around him. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Odom Cemetery with Minister David Dunn officiating. His family will receive friends for visitation from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Woodbury Funeral Home.
