Roy Ratheal Obituary

Roy Ratheal
Crosbyton - Roy D Ratheal 89 of Crosbyton passed away Thursday April 8, 2021. He was born February 27, 1932 in Crosby County to Otto Freeman and Mary Lois Henderson Ratheal. Roy married the love of his life Merle Weldon on July 14, 1951 in Crosbyton, and they enjoyed almost seventy wonderful years together. Roy took very good care of his family and loved watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, he also enjoyed coaching and refereeing. Roy loved reading and was a wonderful storyteller. He was a devout member of the 1st Baptist Church of Crosbyton.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Tyler Early. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Merle of Crosbyton; two daughters, Wynola Early of Snyder, and Edrie Ratheal of Crosbyton; two sons, Otto Ratheal of Lubbock, and Steve Ratheal of Albuquerque NM.; and one sister, Rita Powell of Crosbyton. Roy also leaves behind six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021 in the Crosbyton Cemetery. Services are under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

I will always remember your kindness and conservations asking about our children and the sweet spirit you alway spoke of I will remember your laugh and I know you have a brand new body so you can run and play ball again!!!

Roy was such a special brother-in-law and we had a lot of good times together. Always enjoyed our visits. He will be missed.
