Roy Rios, Sr. 61, formerly of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1964, in Lubbock, Texas to the late Mary Torres and Juan Rios, Sr. Roy was a man with a big heart, he would help anyone and most definitely give someone the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket. Roy work in construction as a superintendent for many years. He got to build a lot of places here in Lubbock, and even some out of town and state. Roy loved his family, especially if it meant he was getting to cook out and enjoy being outdoors and hanging out with people. He loved to watch football, enjoyed being around a good-looking motorcycle as well, but he was also known for his captivating artistic skills, he was a phenomenal artist. Roy also loved to listen to music, especially to get excitement to fill the room, his go-to tunes were always a good rock or Tejano song.
He is survived by his children, Melinda Rios and fiancé, Richard Quintero, Roy Rios, Jr. and husband, Devin Gibbons; siblings, Victor Rios, Sally Cantu, Virgina Deleon, Joann Wigley; grandchildren, Khristian Hernandez and husband Leandro Hernandez, and Zakry Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Leandro SantiagoHernandez and Benito Hernandez.
Roy was proceeded in death by his parents, Juan and Mary Rios; siblings, Juan, Gilbert, and David Rios; and great-granddaughter, Josefina Hernandez.
