Philip G. Rios

Philip G. Rios passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on November 12, 1939, in Mission Valley to the late Donato Rios and Eleanor Garza Rios. Upon graduation from Victoria High School, he joined the U. S. Army in 1961. He volunteered 2 tours in Vietnam and was proud to have served his country, and retired after 20 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Raquel "Rachel" Rios, daughters Lisa Garcia and Susan Salinas, both of Victoria, Tx; grandchildren, David Garza, Alisa Garcia, Aaron Garcia; great - grandchild, Dane Garza.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Frances Sikes Rios, brothers, Chris, Manuel, Toribio (Terry) and Thomas Rios, and Sister Viviana Escalona.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 21, 2025, at 9 AM-10 AM at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home, 706 E. Crestwood Drive, Victoria, Texas, with a Prayer Service to begin at 10 AM with Pastor Ildiko Rigney and Pastor Fred Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the pallbearers who will carry Philip on his final journey: Aaron Garcia, David Garza, Joe L. Garza III, Pete Rodriguez, Roland Canales, and Ross A. Cuellar IV.
