Roy Glenn Robert, Sr. left this world on Feb. 22, 2024. He was born on August 29, 1941, in Monroe, Louisiana. He married the love of his life, Joy Ann Foster, on July 22, 1960, and they were married for sixty-three years and seven months.
Roy was a member of the Ouachita Parish Cattlemen’s Association and served as President for two years, a member of the Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association. He worked thirty-six years at Olin Kraft, now known as the Paper Mill in West Monroe. He loved his wife and family more than words can say. He loved his farm, the cows and Lord knows he loved his John Deere Tractor. He loved to ride the babies on his tractor, all the babies loved their Papaw. The youngest two didn’t get to ride that tractor because of his health but Lord knows he would have loved to ride them one last time.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cyble Lenard Robert; father, Charles Augusteen Robert; brother, Charles Harvey Robert; and daughter-in-Law, Leatha Lopez Robert.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Joy Foster Robert; his three children, Bobby Wayne Robert and his wife, Anita, Roy Glenn Robert, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, Angela Denna Robert and her husband, Foy Gadberry; four grandchildren, Sarah Otwell and her husband, Scott, Michael Robert and his wife, Megan, Amanda Pritchard and her husband, TJ, Ashley Delrio and her husband, Chase; one step-grandchild, Hannah Heath; eight great grandchildren, Kaylee Marie, Jace Lee, McKenzie Grace, Adaleigh Denee’, Rhett Lee, Averie Grace, Elijah Lee, and Huxley Knox; as well as a host of cousins and many more family members.
The pallbearers will be Harvey Robert, James Clark, Ted Foster, Terry Boone, Clyde Walker, and Jimmy Dale Young.
We want to thank all the staff of the West Monroe Guest House for all the love and attention that they showed Roy. The staff in the 800 hall at the Guest House went above and beyond to make him as comfortable as possible. We gained a lot of new friends that will be considered as a part of our family now.
