My dad didn´t always give me the advice I wanted to hear, but he never failed to give the advice I needed. He could pour the truth directly into my soul. When I was up, we celebrated, down we commiserated. Working; he was at my side, taking risk; he had my back, when trouble called he stepped in front. When I thought he would be angry, he was stern but kind. If I made a mistake he coached me back. He fathered me up, then pointed the way higher, championing me through self-doubt. My strengths are a direct reflection of his own. I´m built by him. He got me ready for this world. What you see good in me is a piece of him.

Dad? I loved the man and thank him for my whole world. We´ll keep our father/son conversation going forever. No son will ever miss holding his father´s hand more or owes his father more. Rest in peace my mighty Father.

Roy J. Rodney, Sr. 9/14/35-11/18/23.
