Deacon Roy Rogers, 80, of Hensley Arkansas, passed away on September 12, 2025. Born on April 21, 1945, in Sweet Home, Arkansas, Roy lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and community.
Roy was the beloved husband of Maude Rogers, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage. He was a proud father to three daughters: Paula (Frank) Rogers-Withers of Woodson, Tiffany Rogers of Centerton, and Jayla Rogers of Hensley. He also embraced his role as a bonus father to Lytesa (Robert) Harris of Redfield. His legacy continues through his six cherished grandchildren: Kenneth Givens, Ariana Stanfield, Malorie Harris, Marissa Harris, Mason Harris, and Eleora Rogers.
He is also remembered by his sister Lois Hughes of Little Rock and four brothers: Robert (Nawana) of Sweet Home; Gary (Marilyn) of Benton; Alvin (Mary) of Little Rock; and Stanley (Lisa) of Conway. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie Mae and Odell Rogers; his twin brother Richard Rogers; and his brother Donald Rogers.
A man deeply rooted in faith, Roy served as the head Deacon at Galilean Baptist Church. His commitment to the church was unwavering—he attended every Sunday and led with humility and strength. His presence in the congregation was a source of inspiration and comfort to many.
Roy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved watching Westerns and never missed an episode of The Price is Right. Sundays were sacred not only for worship but also for fellowship with those around him. He took pride in maintaining his yard—cutting the grass brought him peace—and he enjoyed fishing and hunting whenever he had the chance.
Those who knew Roy will remember him as loving, caring, dependable, and hardworking. His steady presence and warm heart left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
