Roy Sherwood Salladay, age 90, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. He was born in Oklahoma City on January 11, 1934 to Roy Jacob and Mary Adeline (Nicholson) Salladay. After graduating from high school at Putnam City, he joined the United States Navy in 1952 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956. Sherwood was a plumber for the entirety of his life. He enjoyed fixing things and working with his hands. In his younger years, he loved taking his family camping and water skiing at Lake Eufaula and Ft. Cobb Lake. Sherwood had a wonderful sense of humor and was very ornery. He had a smile and a laugh that would light up the room. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be forever missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anita Salladay; son, Ronald Salladay; and 2 brothers.
He is survived by his daughters, Donda Davis and Dena Salladay; grandchildren, Kyle Davis, Kevin Davis, Jake Salladay, Jeff Salladay, Jackie Little, Kara McBride, and Jay Edwards; great grandchildren, Matt, Jared, Zach, Connor, Emerald, Christian, Gunner, and Teagan.
Graveside services will be 2pm Monday, February 12, 2024 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
