Roy Saunders went home peacefully into the Lord’s presence on August, 25th, 2024 at the age of 76. He was raised in Galveston, Kentucky before moving to Lorain, Ohio, where he settled and raised his family. Roy said “The key to life is being honest”. Besides being honest, he was kind, gentle, wise, and caring. He treasured his wife, Patti, and they enjoyed vacationing in Hocking Hills. His favorite spot was nearby Lake Hope. He loved music, telling stories, and children.
Roy is survived by children, Susan Meier, Terry Saunders (Maureen), Debbie Saunders (John), Brenda Saunders (Joey), and Jimmy Saunders (Veronica); grandchildren, Nicholas Saunders (Samantha), Matthew Saunders (Felicia), Kayla Saunders, Mandy Jo Schneider (Luke), Tyler Cruz (DeeDee), Brittany Saunders, Kelsi Saunders, Joshua Saunders, and Alexander Meier; great grandchildren, Michael Saunders, Maribel Saunders, and Ethan Saunders. Another great grandchild is soon expected. He is also survived by brothers, Douglas Saunders (Pauline), Darrell Saunders (Terri), and sister, Sherry Meek (Richard).
He was preceded in death by wife, Patti Saunders, father, James Saunders, mother, Alva Saunders, and beloved brothers and sisters.
A private service is being held on August 28th, 2024, after which he will be laid to rest at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Ohio.
