Roy Schaefer

Mr. Roy Lawrence Schaefer, age 67, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on August 10, 1954 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of the late Roy Lawrence Schaefer, Sr. and Agnes (Blattel) Schaefer. He was raised in Washington, Illinois where he was a 1972 graduate of the St. Patrick High School. On November 2, 1987, Roy was united in marriage to LuAnn F. Harris in Benton, Missouri. He was employed for Ryder Trucking in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Roy owned and operated Schaefer Trucking in Benton, Missouri and Florence, Indiana from 1996-2006. Roy moved to the Florence, Indiana community in 2000 where he resided until his passing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Roy passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at his residence in Florence, Indiana.
Roy is survived by his companion, LuAnn F. (Harris) Schaefer of Florence, Indiana; his step-daughters, Heather Thompson and her husband, Jamie of Murfreesboro, TN and Melissa Gaines and her husband, Johnny of Kelso, Missouri; his step-grandchildren, Andrea, Alex and Austin; his step-great-granddaughter, Willow; his sisters and brothers, Carolyn Schaefer, Bettina Foster and her husband, Randy, Paula Mooney, Richard Schaefer and his wife, Michelle and Anthony Schaefer and his wife, Brenda all of Illinois and his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lawrence Schaefer, Sr. and Agnes (Blattel) Schaefer.
