Roy Clifton Scoggins Sr.

Roy Clifton Scoggins, Sr., 79, of Judsonia, passed from this life on Friday, October 3, 2025. He was born April 23, 1946 in Newport a son of the late Connard and Ruby (Swift) Scoggins. At the age of 14 years old, Roy met his future wife, who was 15, while working on the family strawberry farm. He enjoyed telling the story about how Joyce would wait for him at the end of his row each day. They were very soon married and spent 41 happy years together before her passing in 2001. Mr. Scoggins lived his life to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed eating his catch as much as he enjoyed catching them. A man always on the go, Roy was very active in his grandchildren's lives and enjoyed supporting them in their various activities and events. Over the years, he worked very hard to support his family. In his younger days, he worked construction and eventually went on to enjoy a career as a truck driver; driving the last 14 years for Wal-Mart. He is survived by his children, Roy Scoggins, Jr. (Judy), Danny Scoggins, Bobby Scoggins (Susan) and Jennifer Bratton (Jack); brother, Wayne Scoggins; sister, Connie Smith; grandchildren, Brandie Langley, Tara Scoggins, Melissa Wallen, Danny Scoggins, Jr., Noah Scoggins, Josie Scoggins, Natilee Lipe, Colby Pearson, Ethan Bratton, McKenzi Bratton and Taylor Cleaver; great-grandchildren, Delton Guthrie, Liberty Langley, Jasper Langley, Malachi Scoggins, Barrett Pearson, October Roberson, Carina Lipe, Rex Lipe, Oliviah Scoggins, Graydon Scoggins, Paisley Wallen and Smith Wallen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Scoggins; a daughter, Melissa Ann Scoggins and a sister, Martha Ann Smith. Visitation will be held Monday, October 6, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maple Springs Cemetery.
