Roy John Watson was born on Sunday October 8, 1939, in Kilancholly, Jamaica to Doris and George Watson. He was the only boy and youngest child to bless the family. After having three daughters, the Watson family couldn't help but to spoil him. He attended Rose Bank elementary school up to the age of 16, then migrated to Kingston Jamaica to live with his eldest sister Icelyn to attend St. Georges College/ High School. It was in Kingston, where his passion for accounting grew and he began his career at a prominent accounting firm. Soon after he met Faye C Muir and they got married in 1966. During the years of 1963 and 1968, Roy had two beautiful children, Carel and John. In 1971 Roy and his family migrated to Brooklyn New York. They stayed with his sister Violet until they were able to acquire their own home. He soon began a career with Manufacture Hanover Trust now known as JP Morgan. It was there that he began to travel the world by way of career opportunities that placed him in England for two years. Roy was hard working, ambitious and a romantic. In 1998, Roy met Jewel and got married. The two built a life together in Long Island. Roy's love for accounting continued to evolve, which allowed him to grow with JP Morgan for 30 years until he retired in 2002. In 2015, Jewel passed away, and Roy migrated to Port St Lucie thereafter in 2016 to be closer to his siblings. In 2020 Roy was diagnosed with ALS, formally known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. As the years progressed, Roy faced unbelievable challenges as his nervous system began to shut down. Roy took his last breath on September 20th at 4am. He will be missed by his children, Carel and John, his sister Violet and brother-in-law Lennox, his grandchildren (Nadia, Emile, Jeremy and Jonathan), great grandchildren (Carter, Camden, Anaya, Jaethan) a host of nieces and nephews, his grandniece (Taz), and cousins far and wide. Roy John Watson will be remembered for his laugh, charm, love for tennis, dance moves, ambition and playful spirit.
