Haskell Funeral HomeRuby Juanita Anderson, 89, of Haskell, passed away, Saturday, November 15, 2025 in Haskell. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00am, Saturday, December 6th, 2025 at the Primitive Baptist Church in Rule. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Ruby was born on August 31, 1936, in Carlton, Texas, the daughter of the late R.C. Cook and Ruby Howerton Cook. She graduated from Haskell High School in 1956. In 1957, she married Lloyd Marcos Hunt, who preceded her in death in 1965. Following his passing, she devoted herself to raising their two children on her own. She later married Dan Franklin Anderson on June 7, 1980. He also preceded her in death in 2018. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Rule.
Throughout her life, Ruby worked in several roles she truly loved. As a teenager, she ran the movie theater booth in Haskell, later becoming a telephone switchboard operator. She went on to serve as a CNA for many years at Teakwood Manor in Stamford, caring for others with the same compassion she carried throughout her life. Ruby then became a house parent at Girls Town USA, a role she deeply cherished, and proudly retired from in 1996.
Ruby enjoyed sewing, but her greatest joy came from her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was proud to have raised two of her great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; son, Bobby Hunt; sisters, Amy Sorrells, Wanda Stocks and brother, Rayburn Cook.
Ruby is survived by daughter, Amanda Anderson and husband Alan of Rule, TX; step-daughter, Linda Mason and husband Vern of Abilene; grandchildren, Melissa Owen and husband Brad of Haskell, TX; Steven Anderson and wife Kayla of Junction City, KS, Chadisty Pauly and husband Randy of Houston, TX, Bilbry Fuchs and husband Josh of Cushing, OK, Colby Hunt and Chris Solid of Cache, OK; step-grandson, D J Jameson of Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Christina Moore, Timothy Moore and Nakebra, Finley Pauly, Cooper Pauly, Bobbie Jean Fuchs, Wayland Anderson, Kamdyn Anderson, Emery Anderson; step-great grandchildren, Carl, Sarah, Rachel, Daisy, Ryatt and Radley Fuchs; 2 great-great grandchildren Ivan and Danny Hilario, brother, Harold Cook of North Carolina, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
Memories and condolences can be left on the obituary at the funeral home website.
