It is with loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Ruby M. Bachman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life at the age of 71, of Hannibal, OH, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital Wheeling, WV.
She was born May 8, 1954, in New Martinsville, WV, a daughter of the late George and Betty Schoonover Huffman.
She was retired from Switzerland of Ohio School District, a member of Church of God in Duffy, OH and Moose lodge # 931 in New Martinsville, WV; and volunteered at Helping Hand.
Ruby found her greatest joy in the simple beauties of everyday life. Many will remember her sitting peacefully on her front porch, watching butterflies drift through the blooms of her cherished butterfly bushes - a place where she felt most at home. Her yard was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of her care, patience, and love for growing things. She spent countless hours gardening and tending to her flowers and lawn, finding happiness in nurturing life and creating beauty for others to enjoy.
Ruby had a gentle spirit and a deep appreciation for nature. Whether planting new flowers, working in the yard, or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon outdoors, she embraced life's small moments with gratitude and grace. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, and her presence brought calm and kindness to those around her.
Ruby will be remembered for her hardworking nature, her love of the outdoors, and the peaceful way she lived her life. Her memory will live on in blooming gardens, fluttering butterflies, and the quiet comfort of a sunny porch.
Ruby is deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Brad Bachman; two sons, Christian (Sherry) Bachman and Ryan (Leslie Day) Bachman, both of New Martinsville, WV; two sisters, her twin, Judy Hall of Poland, OH and Debbie Walters of Wytheville, VA; brother, Eugene Huffman of New Martinsville, WV; 4 grandsons, Bill (Erin) Feeney, Joe (Hope) Feeney, Lucas and Liam Day; and 4 nieces, Caitlyn Patterson, Kelly Benton, Amanda Young and Portia Wayts-Merideth.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV, where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr, Jeffrey Kanode officiating.
Interment will follow in Harter Cemetery Hannibal, OH.
