Ruby Evelyn Baker, 85 of Hahira, died at South Georgia Medical Center on Thursday, June 19, 2025. A native of Lowndes County, she was born in Hahira on July 8, 1939, and lived her entire life in Hahira. Ruby was the daughter of the late Daniel and Emily Moore McIntyre. She was an accomplished gardener and worked as a caregiver for the elderly.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn Joann and Eugene Jones of Hahira; son and daughter in law, Jesse and Melba Evans of Ray City, daughter and son in law, Jerlene and Ronnie Hall of Adel and daughter, Wanda Kilgore of Hahira. Ruby is also survived by her eighteen grandchildren, forty greatgrandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Judy Dozier and Janice Evans.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at eleven a.m. in the chapel of the Martin/McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning beginning at 9 a.m. The burial will be at Friendship Cemetery. Pastor Clarence Luke will officiate. Condolences may be made online at www.mclanecares.com. The Martin/McLane Funeral home has been entrusted to care for the Baker family.
