Ruby Jean Roberts Barler, age 89, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado.
Ruby was born on August 21, 1935, in Boise City, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Ava Roberts. Following the untimely death of her mother when Ruby was just 7 years old, she was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Louisa Debra Roberts, and her adoring sister, Sissy Orabell Hallock (Lloyd)
In 1951, Ruby married the love of her life, W.O. Barler. Together, they raised two sons, William Scott and Ronald (Ron) Kirk. Ruby found her greatest joy in being a devoted mother and grandmother. She also dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a certified nurse's aide at Southeast Colorado Hospital.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, sister, husband, both of her sons, and two granddaughters, Tiffany Catherine Smith-Loya and Jennifer Diane Barler.
She is survived by her loving grandchildren: Shawnda Schnurbusch, Travis Smith, and Eric Barler; and great-grandchildren: Sydney and Logan Schnurbusch, Matthew and Marcus Loya, Jonathan Wadsworth, Tula, Taya, and Avett Smith, and Hunter and Serenity Barler; and Waco Herbert. Ruby is also remembered fondly by her nephew, Larry Hallock (Gwynne), and nieces, Beverly Reish (Bill) and Zora Koch (Gary).
A memorial service will be held graveside on Friday, July 11th, 4pm at the Springfield Cemetery in Springfield, Colorado.
Ruby's legacy of love and strength lives on through her family and all who knew her.
