Bette Beatrice Barler left us far earlier than expected by her family and friends, who miss her loving and beloved physical presence and are sad that we do not see her anymore on this beautiful earth; but we are comforted in the knowledge that she has only passed fully into the spiritual world and that she continues to live more richly than ever. Bette was born on June 10, 1954 in San Francisco, California to Francis Marion Barler and Beatrice Frances Ripple. She attended schools in San Francisco, California and Alpine, Texas, graduating from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and traveled widely in Mexico, Central America, Canada and the Czech Republic, proud of her Czech-Moravian heritage. She was a Certified Public Accountant, working for the State of Texas for over 30 years in various capacities including as a parole officer. She was preceded in death by both parents, and is survived by Gary LaBelle, her husband of 40 years, whom she married on August 4, 1984; her son Jeremy LaBelle of Fort Worth, Texas; and two sisters, Dorothy Montgomery (Earl) of Oro Valley, Arizona and Helen Ann Barler (Paul Flesher) of Seguin, Texas. A Celebration of Life is being planned for the near future. Donations may be made in her name to the charity or cause of your choice in lieu of flowers.
