The impact that Scott had on my life really cannot be measured. He came into my life at a critical juncture and guided me when I needed it most. He taught me a lot about science and how to be a scientist but he taught me even more about how to be a good person. I will be eternally grateful for his mentorship and the time I got to spend with him.

Scott was one of my professor at Allegheny. In fact, I was at Allegheny when he first started working. He is much admired as a scholar and an exceptional mentor and friend. I credit Scott with influencing the trajectory of my career to work toward my terminal degree and to teach science at a small private college. Blessings to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
