Ruby Best Obituary
Ruby Belle Miller Best, 90, of Newport, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at her home in Newport.
The family will celebrate her life privately.
Ruby was raised in Pamlico County, NC and graduated from Pamlico High School where she played on the basketball team. After finishing high school she worked as a secretary for Connor Homes for 17 years before going on to work at the Morehead City Post Office where she retired many years later.
Ruby married George Larry Best, also of Newport, in 1985, who also worked for Connor’s and later went on to work at MCAS Cherry Point.
Ruby is survived by her son, Kenneth Bryan Stanley of VA and her daughter, Beth LaJoy Cooper of Newport.
The family wants to thank Carteret Health Care Home Health and Hospice for their outstanding care and support given to Ruby and the family.
