Ruby Eagleton Obituary

Ruby Eagleton, age 79, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025. Born in Kentucky, Ruby was one of 14 children. She cherished her role as both a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Ruby devoted her life to family and community. Known for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering generosity, she touched countless lives.

Ruby spent many years working as a hairdresser and was a staple at Shorty's Restaurant, where she was respected for her delicious cooking, dedication and work ethic.

Above all, Ruby treasured her family. She is survived by sons Kevin Eagleton, Sr. and Chad Eagleton, grandchildren Levi & Kevin Eagleton, Jr., great-grandchildren Nathan Eagleton & Lilly Bottoms, surviving siblings Mary Lawrence, Irene Watson, Walter D. Crabtree, and Gloria Stradlin, as well as her beloved cat Sylvester.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Eagleton, son Nathan Eagleton, 3 sisters and 6 brothers.

Ruby's legacy is one of love, resilience, and deep family bonds. Her presence will be profoundly missed, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Services have been entrusted to Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home. In accordance with Ruby's wishes, she will be cremated. Online condolences and special memories may be shared with the Eagleton family at barkesweaverglick.com.

Aw sweet Ruby! She never let me leave Shorty´s without my warm blackberry cobbler and ice cream. She was the sweetest! Prayers and condolences to her family.
