Ruby Benson Eason

Funeral services for Ruby Ola Benson Eason, age 94, of Jena, LA will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2024, from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery at Clarks. Family and friends may begin to gather at 1:30 PM Saturday.

Mrs. Eason was born on March 28, 1930, at Clarks, LA to the union of her parents, Elton Benson and Katie Reitzell Benson. She passed from this life on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Jena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jena following a long well-lived life. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Arnold Eason; son: Gary Eason; by two brothers, Fred Benson and Leonard Benson; and her sister, Mary Jane Goodwin.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kathy Martin; her brother, Edward Benson; two grandchildren, Johnathan Martin and Timothy Martin; four great-grandchildren:  Amber Martin, Allison Martin, Wyatt Martin, and Waylon Martin; and two great-great-grandchildren, Callie and Carson Aguilera, as well as, a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnathan Martin, Timothy Martin, Wyatt Martin, Waylon Martin, Carlos Crooks, and Jamie Ogden.
